WHO ARE HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS?
Hospice volunteers are ordinary people with extraordinary love and concern for others, contributing their time, talent and energy at an extraordinary time of life.  The men and women who become hospice volunteers come from all walks of life with diverse interests and a range of ethnic, economic, religious and social backgrounds.  The common thread that connects all hospice volunteers is the gift of compassion and a heart to help others.

WHAT CAN A VOLUNTEER DO FOR HOSPICE?
There are four areas to volunteer for hospice.

  1. PATIENT SERVICES VOLUNTEERS

These volunteers visit in the residences of patients, bringing, relief for the caregiver, and companionship and emotional support for the patient during the end stages of life.

  1. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS

These volunteers assist office staff in day-to-day operations and special projects

  1. COMMUNITY SERVICE/SPEAKERS BUREAU VOLUNTEER

Volunteers raise community awareness of hospice concept and philosophy by representing the organization in the community. 

  1. BEREAVEMENT

Volunteers offer emotional support, companionship, assistance and other supportive services to bereaved families, significant others, and/or caregivers. 

Volunteer do make a difference.  They come from all walks of life, backgrounds, experience, education and they bring wonderful and valuable gifts.
